Chudney Ross

Chudney Ross

Hometown: Los Angeles, CA

Alma Mater: Georgetown University (Double majored in English and Fine Arts)

Occupation: Writer, TV Host, Entrepreneur. I recently signed my very first book deal with Harper Collins for a series of Middle Readers (Chapter books with pictures for 8-10 year olds). I’m also in the process of starting a really cool child-centered business with a friend from college. Our goal is to bring the fun back to reading while supporting literacy and giving back to the community at large.

Charities You Feel Closest To: Any and all children’s charitable causes. Notably Teach For America, Cure Kids Cancer, & Keep a Child Alive.

Recent Events You've Been To: I recently attended NY Fashion Week and walked in Zang Toi’s Charity Fashion Show benefiting Live Strong, The Lance Armstrong Foundation. During LA Fashion Week, I attended The Wet In Cement Fashion Event sponsored by Saks and benefiting Operation Smile.

Next Event On Your Calendar:  I wish I could attend the upcoming Angel Ball in New York. I went last year and it is such a wonderful event for such a worthwhile cause. My grandmother died of Breast Cancer and so I am a huge advocate of Cancer charities as well. Denise Rich is an amazing woman raising money and awareness. With woman like her, a cure for cancer is not far out of reach.

Favorite Book of the Moment: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

Favorite Restaurant: I don’t have a favorite restaurant BUT I love food! Italian food, Thai food, Ethiopian food, steaks, even fast food, but no sushi! I’m not a big fan of fish.

Favorite Bar or Lounge: I’m pretty low key. I love a margarita with friends at Cabo Cantina in LA or wine at Pastis in New York.

Item You Can't Live Without: My beach cruiser (its pink with green flames) and lip-gloss.

Your Favorite Date Spot: On a blanket at the beach, under the stars with a bottle of wine and some cookies.

Paris, London, Milan or NYC?: I love New York and London. I lived in Paris when I was young, but have never been a big fan. I think I need to go back as an adult. I never spent much time in Milan.

Uptown or Downtown Girl?: I grew up on the Upper Eastside of New York, so I’m probably an Uptown girl, but I would like to think of myself as a hip and cool Downtown gal.

Union Square or Central Park?: I love Central Park (so does my dog Peanut). Did you know there is free WI-FI through out the park? You can sit anywhere and peruse the Internet! LOVE IT!

Go-To Designer: Alice and Olivia. I love love love dresses and Alice and Olivia makes some really cute ones!

Shoes or Bags: Shoes shoes shoes! You can get away with wearing a cheap dress if you have a killer pair of shoes. My new favorite are patent leather Louboutins that my sister gave me as hand-me-downs!

Most Dangerous Store: In LA, Fred Segal and in New York, Bloomingdales.

Favorite Channel/TV Show:  E! Network.  I love to keep up with all celebrity gossip!

Other Hobbies and Fun Facts: I’m an outdoorsy girl. I taught skiing in Aspen, CO for 7 years. While I was there I had the opportunity to work with A Grassroots Aspen Experience, a program designed to save lives by empowering young people to make positive choices. I taught skiing to at-risk teens from all over the United States. I will never forget my involvement with this wonderful program. I also have a PADI certified Master Scuba Diver. I’m obsessed with my two 2 dogs Peanut and Brody. Peanut has an agent and was recently on Ugly Betty. I am also thinking about training him to be a therapy dog. He is the real star of the family!

You have really grown up alot.

A. J. Will - 05/11/2009

I enjoy reading the details and interest of Chudney Ross, the beautiful, multi-talented youngest daughter of Diana Ross. She is quite an inspiration. I first saw her on the 1981 Diana Ross at Creasers Palace Special two hour concert video. Unlike her two sisters she was too shy to sing with Mom. Still the song "Reach out and touch somebody's hand" ( written by Ashford and Simpson ) was a smash hit that night! The emotional sing along " ALL hand in hand" movement our lovely Lady Diana Ross created in The House that night still brings me to tears every time I see it! I applaud You chutney for becoming the well rounded , roll model Young lady You have grown into. Your Life is far more than the song. You have truly reached out and touched not only our hands... but our hearts as well. All My Very best to You & Yours A. J. Will www.ajwill.com 917-292-2900 ajwillcre8@hotmail.com
