My friend was dating was of his fraternity brothers so I was there with them hanging out.  Somebody went and told him there was a girl downstairs he should come and meet.  We were best friends for a year and half before we started dating. How did he propose? Edouard proposed on a boat on the Canal du Rhone in the south of France.  We were visiting his family in Paris and were en route to Montpellier to spend a couple days on the beach with his aunt, uncle and cousin.  Instead of going to their house, we ended up at a houseboat.  It was just the two of us on the boat for three days (you can rent and drive them on this Canal without a license) sleeping in ports and docking along the canal to ride our bicycles through vineyards and tiny villages.  We had three days on the boat, but he proposed after half an hour.  My parents were in on it, and when I called them after he asked, they were like “Already?! I guess he really couldn’t wait!” Best NYC moment together: Everything!  Between our friends, restaurants, events, shows, parties, sightseeing and just walking through different neighborhoods- we’re constantly talking about how much we love living here.
