Seventh Annual A Taste of Greenwich House

Greenwich House announced today that the Seventh Annual A Taste of Greenwich House, held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Altman Building in New York City, was a success for the organization. Attendees enjoyed an evening

of delicious tastings from NYC’s finest restaurants including Bar Blanc, Blue Hill, Braeburn, Commerce, Perilla, Scarpetta and Little Owl, and a silent auction, all while helping at-risk children, seniors and other clients in Greenwich House’s medical, mental health and arts programs. The event was attended by over 400 people and netted $70,000 for Greenwich House. The attendance and ticket revenue was the highest the organization has seen in the event’s seven-year history.

Scott Conant, Chef and owner of Scarpetta, hosted a VIP Reception prior to the event where he signed copies of his new cookbook, Bold Italian. Wines poured throughout the evening included a Duchamp Estate Syrah, and JTE Spirits and Café Bustelo provided additional beverage donations. Music and DJ services were provided by LMS Entertainment.

Roy Leavitt, Executive Director and CEO of Greenwich House, said, “In these challenging economic times when every non-profit is experiencing financial losses, funds raised through private sources become even more important. A Taste of Greenwich House was a fantastic evening where guests enjoyed food from some of New York’s finest restaurants while learning about Greenwich House’s programs, and supporting fellow New Yorkers as well. The funds raised will make a difference in our ability to sustain critical services.”
